  High purity lithium sulfide, molecular formula: Li2S, is the sulfide of lithium, molecular weight: 45.95.

White to yellow crystal. With an anti-fluorite structure. Specific gravity 1.66 (water =1), melting point 938C,

boiling point 1372C. Easy soluble in water, soluble in ethanol, soluble in acid, insoluble in alkali. Can be used as a potential electrolyte material in rechargeable lithium-ion batteries.
